Liverpool trail in race for £25M forward

Carlos Tevez The uncertainty of an Argentine forward has led to clubs from England and Spain vying for his signature. With limited transfer fund, Rafa Benitez is unwilling to succumb to the demand. Hence, Manchester City with million of pounds at their disposal went ahead of this race.

But the player’s future at Manchester United will be decided by tomorrow.

The Times says Kia Joorabchian, whose companies own the economic rights to Carlos Tevez, is expected to meet David Gill, United chief executive, tomorrow to resolve the situation. If United agree to pay the £25.5million required to secure the permanent signing of Tevez, the player will have a decision to make.

Why? He wasn’t happy with United’s attempts to drive his transfer fees down and has been a benchwarmer for the biggest football final in Rome last month.

Manchester City more than willing to pay the asking price and would also be able to offer Tevez vastly inflated wages. Although Liverpool fell short behind, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested in bolstering their squad this summer.

Will Rafa Benitez still want to deal on this little Argentine or he could raise his bid for another Argentine?
